Zoo Keeper Makes Earplugs For Camel.

Keepers at Bristol Zoo have made a pair of earplugs for one of their camels.  Oscar, part of the zoos' camel breeding  programme has been kept awake at night by the calls of other animals in the zoo and as a result of his tiredness has been unable to fulifill his conjugal duties.  As a result the programme has so far failed in it's aim of breeding camels in captivity; a task which is notoriously difficult to accomplish.  Innovative keeper Jeff Mackenzie combined several ZenPlugs Custom Earplug kits to make Oscar a pair of earplugs."The mouldability of the earplugs made them ideal for the purpose because I could fit them perfectly to Oscars ears.  He's sleeping much better now; we`ve got high hopes that he'll do us proud and we'll soon be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny cameltoes!.'

The programme has been running for two years and has received funding from the EU in order to build comfortable enclosures and provide expert supervision of the camels.  There are currently four camels in the enclosure, Oscar and three females.
